Assisi is a municipality and commune of Italy in the county of Perugia in the Umbria region, on the western side of Monte Subasio. It is the birthplace of St Francis, who has been the the founder of Franciscan religious order way back in 1208. Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows is also born in this place, which makes it an important place for the religious sectors.

Of course, there are other places to visit when in Assisi. This town is dominated by two castles from the medieval ages. These two castles are easily seen and a portion of its towers are open to the public.
