Hotel Tricks for Better Stay

Most of us had the experience of dealing with hotel personnel. Most of them went well, but for those frequent travelers, there is certainly once or maybe more times that you got annoyed with the service that you got.

While there are definitely times that it is their fault, we can never deny the fact that most instances would have been prevented if you know some hotel tricks.

One best hotel advice that I can give you is to always be nice to the hotel receptionists and make sure that you get to know the staff in the hotel. The trick of slipping up some $20 bill on a receptionist’s hand is handy and all, but most of the time, asking in a nicely manner can do the trick. Not much of hotel secrets, but effective nonetheless. Getting to know the staff also brings you a long way, especially if you always come to stay in the hotel. Once the staff recognizes you, there is a big chance of you getting specials, upgrades, or extras with no additional cost.

If you want to get the best deals, it would also be advisable to use a hotel guide agent. These agents can have access to unpublished deals that no one else would know about.

Some Tips for Better Hotel Stay

There are a couple of important hotel booking tips that you need to know to be able to score some free upgrades when you travel.

The first one of the hotel upgrade tips is timing. The easiest way to get something good is by going on an off peak. It would also be best if you check in between 4-6 pm when the hotel staff is doing inventory of rooms that they have to work with. This is when front desk already has an idea if there have been cancellations and no-shows of the day.

Booking a middle price ranged room also helps. If there is an available room higher than what you book, you can get the higher chances of being given the next best room available.

Asking is also good; however, it can be tricky as you do not want to sound like you are begging for it. Make sure that you form a good rapport first before doing this.

Loyalty will also bring you a long way. When hotel staff realizes that you have been a frequent visitor of their hotel, they will give you some perks that they would not normally offer anybody. Make it also a point that you get to know the managers as well.
